I don't like the look of a ceiling fan but I live in East TX where your decor preferences must take a backseat to comfort. I was searching for a ceiling fan that had clear acrylic blades in hopes it would be less noticeable. That's when I stumbled upon the concept of a 'fandelier' and thought whoever created this concept is brilliant!' lolMy fan is the white one and overall, I really love it. But boy...did we start off with a hassle that's not fully resolved.PROS:- The fan is very pretty given that it's a crystal lighting fixture that happens to have fan blades. My mom came over one day and remarked on how pretty the light was and at first, she really wasn't even paying attention to the fact that it's a fan, which was my goal. I love all the crystals - so beautiful.- The fan allows for 3 speeds and the replacement universal remote I had to buy has controls for 3 speeds + light so that's good. See my CON below...the transmitter in my fan arrived not working.- We keep ours on the highest fan speed and it puts out a good bit of air. Plenty of air movement above our bed and helps keep our room cooler.- Even on the highest speed, the fan is very quiet.CONS:- The light is TOO bright and it's not dimmable. Plus, I do not like that cool/blueish light that comes off of a lot of LEDS and that's what this is. I always look for warm LED lights but this isn't it. Personally, I don't use the light much anyway since I keep lamps everywhere, so it wasn't a deal breaker. But a warmer light and a dimmer would make this much better.- The transmitter that came with the remote straight out of the box was no good. We should have tested it before we started the installation but didn't. This caused us to waste time installing and having to uninstall when we realized the problem. By then, it had been about 4 months since I bought the fan. I didn't have confidence in the transmitter and was hesitant to ask for another one of the same kind given the first one was trash.Due to the time-lapse, I wasn't sure if they would send me one anyway. But the fan is expensive, so the parts should be better since you can't operate the fan without a remote! Thankfully we hadn't installed the crystals at that point.Unfortunately, my love is very handy but he's also not particularly cooperative about honey-do chores. It took him over 4 months to get around to helping me install this fan. If I'd hired a handy mean before then, he'd have been pissed. If I nag him, he's pissed. If he's hot, he's pissed. Guess who was getting pissy waiting to hang this beauty? Yours truly.Thankfully, summer in East TX provided him the encouragement he needed to help get on with this already. All it took was some warm nights with no air movement from above :) lol.Ultimately, I ordered a different brand of universal remote + transmitter. It had good reviews and people said it fit into canopies of their fans when some other brands were too big. We attempted the next weekend to install again. We tested that one in advance and it seemed to be ok, so continued installing everything but the crystals. But once installed, we checked (thankfully) before I hung the crystals. Then, it would not turn on even though everything appeared installed correctly. We took the fan back down and he took the transmitter to his shop to check it with another tool. The transmitter literally sparked and melted before his eyes. WTF.On my 3rd attempt, I purchased a Hunter universal remote hoping the quality would be better. That one worked and we continued with the installation. The only problem is the transmitter is a bit too big to totally allow the canopy to fit flush against the ceiling! By then we were both so over it and I just said we had to find a way to make this work.He made it so that the part of the canopy that's visible as you enter our bedroom was flush and the backside has a bit of a gap that isn't quite flush. It's not terrible but for what I spent on this fan + 2 other transmitters + time, it's frustrating. I bought a pre-split decorative ceiling medallion that I believe is going to cover the gap and provide a decorative addition to boot. I'm waiting for it to arrive but hopefully, that resolves it.TIPS:-Check your transmitter first to make sure it works...sooner than later. :)- It's heavy....even before you hang the crystals (which you do after everything else is installed in the ceiling). You will need help or you will need to be prepared to help whoever is doing the install just for safety. Also, be sure your ceiling is fit to handle this weight. Ours already had a ceiling fan brace, etc. installed in the hole so it's been fine.- Be patient with installing the crystals. They come in strands that hold the small crystals on a strand. Then, you have to individually attach the big ball crystal at the end of each strand. Then you have to install each of those strands through a small loop. It's not hard but just takes time. I just turned on Netflix and gave myself 45-60 minutes and it was done.I think they should provide a better quality transmitter. You can't get out of the gate without it and it may not occur to some to check if it works or not. And frankly...some people may not know how or have the AC tester tool to do this but you really should plan to do that. This is one drawback to all the fans now that don't have pull strings and must be operated with a remote. If the remote is no good, you're out of business. This fandaliee is everything. Very beautiful, but was a bit challenging to assemble. I Googled the installation video, which helped more than the enclosed instructions. The lighting is way too bright and there is no dimmer on the remote control. Also, the bulbs are oddly shaped, so there may not be an option to purchase replacement bulbs to reduce the brightness. The fan works great in my huge 15x16 bedroom (settins 2 and 3 work optimally). Overall great value for the dollar and it's dual functionality (fan and chandelier) makes quite the statement piece. The chandelier is well engineered and well packed, with each pendant ball in its own bag and its own spot in Styrofoam. The crystal strings are well labeled and instructions are clear on the sequence of installing those. The metal connectors on the crystals are silver in color and have hooks for the ball pendant and for the chandelier itself. Some criticism about the main harness that attaches to the ceiling - the spacing between the holes barely made it to the standard US fan round box. All is well now, but took some angling of the screws to get them attach right to the ceiling truss under the fan box. There is a nice feature on the electrical side - the fan and the light can be controlled by dedicated wires from individual switches on the wall, so I totally bypassed the installation of a remote control. I have another chandelier with a fan, and find that remote control is more of a nuisance than a benefit - most of my light switches in the house are Z-Wave switches and I have remote access to all my lights from anywhere there is internet access. So this one work perfect in my situation, and I will see if there is a way for me to re-wire the old chandelier. The light color temperature is 3000K, which is Warm White, slightly on whiter side of the spectrum, and definitely not Cool White - my other lights in the house are at 2700K color temperature, and this chandelier is slightly whiter. Overall, I give this light two thumbs up, and 4.9 out of 5 - deduction is for instruction booklet, that could use a bit more clear language. Recommend. This is going to be a two person review....I (wife) love this fan. It is pretty while serving a practical purpose. I wanted a sophisticated look with some glam and bling and this certainly delivers that. This was installed in our 20x20'master bedroom for a dramatic look, but would go great in a dining area too. It is shipped from China and I had my doubts as to what shape it would be in when it arrived. Despite the thinness of the cardboard it arrived without any undue dents and tears in the packaging. The light and fan are separately switched so in the winter it is great to use the light without having to use the fan. The electrician didn't complain about having to thread every round bubble onto the different chains and it has a lot of them in different graduated sizes. He also had to install the blades of the fan on the housing. This maybe added an extra hour to the job. This is where the review takes a turn....I switched on the light. The light bulbs are all very small LED's and looks beautiful shinning through the bubbles. My lighting engineer of a husband gave that to me at least, then he said he hated it! He never wanted to see it on again while he was around. LED lighting can be very bright, and this is. To be honest it lights up every nook and cranny in that 20x20' room without a problem. His big problem with it is that the Lumens are too high meaning that the light is a bright piercing light like you would have in a factory setting instead of being in the 2700 lumen range that most people like. Yes it is certainly on the top end of the range and as these are built right into the light, they cannot be changed out nor tuned off. To keep everyone happy it would be well to consider this. As far as the fan is concerned, the blades are tucked away without notice and they come out in an elegant sweep and do a good job of moving air. That part of this light will be well used at least.
