First of all, they look pretty good once they are installed. The installation, however, is not very easy. Especially for a one-man job.The instructions are terrible. It appears they made instructions for all their lights on one sheet even though these lights do not have black and white wires. Having installed ceiling fans and lights before, I would have to say this was the most difficult installation I've had.First, turn off the power at breaker box. Don't want someone coming around and turning on switch when you have a live wire in your hand. Second, install the wires through the base plate as shown on their terrible instructions. I would suggest you do this while your wife and or girlfriend are not at home so they cannot nitpicky you about the length of each cord. As an alternative, maybe have them draw you a picture and then have them leave the house. Once this light is up you don't want to be messing with it changing the length of every cord.Third install the cross bracket in the ceiling. Cut down the wires that are feeding through the ceiling plate if they are too long and twist them together. So you should have two sets of Twisted wires and the ground wire. Make sure the wires coming from the ceiling come to Center hole in the cross bracket and are long enough to work with. Go to a hardware store and get larger wire nuts. Trying to wire 6 wires together with those little wire nuts they give you is ridiculous. Also, while you're at the hardware store get longer bolts for the ceiling plate to feed through. As indicated in many other reviews, the bolts they provide are way too short. If you sent your wife and or girlfriend out of the house, have them come back in now to hold the lights up while you connect all the wires together with wire nuts. As a one man install this was the hardest part. Now, find the bolts are coming down and if you are lucky you will be able to get the bolts through the cover plate and install the acorn nuts. You may have to strip more wire and slice the wire down the middle to split the wires so you can get both wire nuts on.Lesson learned on buying Chinese prison made products. The installation process was not thought out at all. This light is a trendy light in 2016. Industrial lights with Edison bulbs are becoming very popular these days. For that reason, I'm guessing, the company feels it's okay to charge nearly $150 for something that probably costs them $20 to make. But the worst part of this light is the instructions and installation hardware. We had to go buy new hardware for the lighting fixture as the bolts are not long enough for the plate to fit over them and leave room to get tightened into place. All five lights have individual wiring that the company expects you to just join together and tie to your electrical wires. When I married all of the wires I did not feel safe using electrical tape to keep everything together. We had to buy a wire connector to make all the lights' wire connect to our home's electrical wires. Finally, the installation instructions are worded terribly. The pictures on the installation guide are barely visible as the whole paper looks like it was copied on a very cheap black and white copier. Here are the extra tools and parts I had to use to ultimately install this light.1. Drill to get the holes ready for the lighting frame.2. Wire cutters to cut down and strip the wiring. If you want to shorten the length of the lights significantly you won't be able to fit all of the extra wiring in the light's plate.3. Multiple sizes and types of screw drivers4. Wire connectors to connect all of the lights to the home's electrical wires.5. Longer bolts for the frame.A lot of the reviewers who gave this five stars had someone else install the light or they are simply reviewing the looks of the product. This light does not look bad, but I firmly believe that it's overpriced and the installation of the light is a huge pain. We got the light up and it looks okay, but I don't believe it was worth the cost and the hassle of the installation.Decent light that looks great. The downfall is the installation. As a contractor I have installed plenty of fixtures over the years. The issue here is the through bolts that hold the fixture to the ceiling are too short and there is really nothing to hold them to the crossbar. The solution as with most all other quality fixtures would be for the manufacture to thread the crossbar of weld a nuts to the backside. It would be 99% easier if one could install the acorn nut and then keep threading it up into the ceiling until flush but this will never happen when the bolt just fits loose in a slot. One should also use crimp connectors to connect all 5 wires together and maybe even a 6th pigtail to make things easier since the included nuts are not sufficient to do the job. Everything else was fine including adjusting the height. I agree with the other poster that it's sort of pricey since it may cost $20 to build you are paying for a trendy 2016 style. The instructions for installation are a joke, and not a funny one. There is one page with poor quality photographs. The instructions say to connect the black wire to black wire and white wire to white wire. Well, DUH. Too bad none of the wires on the lamp are either white or black. Additionally, the bracket that holds the cover plate has screws that are too short to come through the plate. After a trip to the hardware store for longer screws, I'll try to update this. Bottom line: the unit itself is very attractive, but I know why they offer installation at a hefty price. This company, I feel, purposely made the installation IMPOSSIBLE to achieve with the included hardware. UPDATE: Installation complete with new (1/2 inch longer) screws. Very attractive.
