I purchased the red lights in the small size (8-foot spaced). I have a small to average sized suburban lawn, which means MUCH smaller than the one in the photos, and one box was just the right amount. The lights arrived quickly and all were working perfectly. They come with one stake per light, so each light is mounted individually, which is good. They look quite lovely and I am very happy with them. There are two reasons I gave four stars instead of five. First, the lights are much smaller than I expected. The product photos show these huge glowing lights, so I was expecting them to be large, or at least put off a nice big glow. But, these are the same tiny bulbs that are found in icicle lights. They don't glow even remotely as much as the photos would lead you to believe. They look more like pinpricks of light on the lawn. Still pretty, but a little less showy than I would like. (Perhaps the white ones are different than the red, I don't know.)The second minor problem is that the stakes are rather flimsy. They are approximately eight inches long, but I couldn't get them more than about 3-4 inches into my lawn due to the toughness of the ground. If you try to hammer them in, they just bend and get all contorted. So, I left them like that -- with the lights mounted about 4-5 inches off the ground. It looks fine, and is probably better in the sense that they won't get covered with falling leaves so easily (it doesn't snow where I live), but it does pose much more of a tripping hazard if you try to walk across the lawn. All in all I am very happy I bought them. I am definitely glad I purchased the 8-foot ones, as even then they seem a little too far apart. But, I guess if you have a huge lawn to cover, the 10-foot ones would be fine. One last thing is that these CANNOT be connected end-to-end. The plug does have a female side as well as a male, so they can be plugged in one on top of the other, but you would need to lead an extension cord out to a central location, and have all the strands emanating from that point. (Or have more than one extension cord.)*****UPDATE AS OF December 2012:Well, I guess I foresaw the future with my comment above about the tripping hazard. Someone was walking across my lawn, didn't see the cord and walked right into it. The cord ripped out of the light plug and ruined the entire set. I called the company to ask if there was any way to repair it, and was told no. So, I got about two weeks' use out of these things and then the entire set was ruined -- eighty bucks right down the drain. I lowered the rating to two stars because of the likelihood of these being ruined so easily, and there being no way to repair them if they are.So, I would still recommend these with the above qualifications, but only if you have a lawn that absolutely no one ever walks on. If there is any chance of someone walking across it, I would not recommend these lights because of the tripping hazard. I'm just glad the person didn't fall and get injured, because that could have been a lawsuit as well. The maker of Lawn Lights hit a grand slam with this idea. Given how great the lights looked in the photos, I was a little skeptical when I purchased them. All I can say is that I love being proven wrong. It's not too many times when you buy a product and the product actually lives up, or in this case exceeds it's advertisement. Just as the descriptions and the videos stated, it was quick and easy to install and the spacing of the bulbs and laying out in a random pattern delivered the effect that it said it would. I am one of those "Clark Griswald" types that loves to go all out every Christmas when it comes to yard decorations and I am extremely picky when it comes to what I use and the quality. So, I'm typically not won over very easily when it comes to decorations but, I'm officially a loyal and lifelong customer of Lawn Lights. Even my wife and daughter, who are my two biggest critics were amazed at how beautiful an effect the lights produced. We have a large corner lot and I was concerned that just one string of lights would be too sparse to even cover the front part of the yard. Not so. It completely covered the entire front of the yard as well as a few feet of the side yard. I will be purchasing another string soon to cover the rest of the side yard for this upcoming Christmas season. Almost nightly during the last half of November and all of December, cars would slow down or come to a complete stop in the street as they passed by. I had several people tell me that they had never seen these types of lights before and were dying to know where I purchased them.I really can't say enough good things about Lawn Lights. What makes it even better is that they are made here in the U.S.A.They only worked for one season. Bought the red ones last year and they worked as needed. Plugged them in this year and they worked for 5 minutes and then went dim. I changed fuses, and checked every bulb. Nothing. For the amount of money spent I'm really irritated. Even when I put them away I rolled them on the original spool and in the box.I received the lawn lights quickly and set them up around the second week in December of 2011. By Christmas they no longer worked. I replaced all the fuses, checked all the bulbs and got nothing. They were great while they lasted, but $60.00 for a week or two worth of lights....No Thanks. No one in the neighborhood had these and they looked really cool, I have a very large Christmas display, but this really filled out the yard nice, got the red ones and hope to get green for next christmasI hope it lasts.
